Agreement to these terms
By using DocToMD, you agree to these Terms. Before a paid checkout can be submitted, you must affirmatively accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy. We record the acceptance result and the versions in effect for the related order.
Use of the service
DocToMD provides self-serve software tools for converting documents, files, and public webpages into Markdown. DocToMD does not provide done-for-you conversion services, consulting, content hosting, long-term file storage, or a marketplace for third-party products.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload, access, and convert any content you submit.
Acceptable use
You may not use DocToMD to process illegal content, infringe intellectual property rights, attack the service, bypass usage limits, upload malware, or submit content you are not authorized to process.
You may not use DocToMD to bypass paywalls, DRM, login requirements, access controls, or copyright restrictions. URL conversion is intended only for public webpages that you are authorized to access and process.
Free and paid access
Free users receive 3 conversions per day shared across file and public URL conversions, files up to 10MB, and PDF files up to 3 pages. Free usage is limited by a server-issued device token and public IP address. ZIP archive conversion and batch upload require a license. Paid users can activate a digital software license key for higher daily limits, currently 100 file conversions per day, batch uploads up to 10 files per request, and 10 URL conversions per day. Each file in a batch upload counts as one file conversion. PDF files are supported up to 99 pages with a license, and licensed file uploads are supported up to 100MB per file. New paid licenses provide 7-day or lifetime access from purchase and license issuance. Each purchase is a one-time payment with no subscription or automatic renewal. Previously issued 30-day, 3-month, annual, and lifetime licenses retain their original terms. Daily limits reset each day based on server calendar time. We may adjust limits or introduce safeguards to protect availability, prevent abuse, and manage infrastructure costs.
A license key may be suspended, revoked, or disabled if it is refunded, charged back, resold, shared publicly, used for abuse, used to bypass technical safeguards, or used in violation of these Terms.
Digital purchases and refunds
Paid access is delivered as a digital software license through a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Weekly access is a fixed-term license and does not automatically renew; lifetime access has no expiration date under the service limits described on the pricing page. Because access can be used immediately after delivery, purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law or for verified payment processing errors described in the Refund Policy.
Conversion results
Markdown output depends on the source file quality and format. Complex layouts, scanned documents, embedded objects, and damaged files may require manual cleanup or may not convert perfectly.
Markdown to PDF
Markdown editing and preview are performed in your browser. Selecting Download PDF sends the Markdown and selected layout settings to DocToMD for temporary server-side rendering and download. This feature is currently free and does not consume file or URL conversion allowances. You remain responsible for the content you submit and for having the rights needed to process it.
Availability
We aim to keep DocToMD available, but the service is provided without uptime guarantees. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service when needed.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms when the service, legal requirements, or our practices change. The Last updated date identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively; continued use after the effective date is subject to the updated Terms where permitted by law.
